My Research

While completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia, I completed several research-based papers. This includes two literature reviews and a comprehensive needs assessment and resource map. Additionally, I completed several practice-based papers, including a complete program plan, a white paper, a technical manual, and a brief report. Each project is linked below with a basic description.

Research-Based Papers

Literature Review

The following literature review researched the impact of rurality on breast cancer among women living in the United States. This literature review observed disparities in diagnosis, treatment, and recovery from breast cancer between women living in rural and urban areas.

The following literature review researched the risk factors for contracting sexually transmitted infections among women of low socioeconomic status in the United States. This literature review examined disparities in risk factors by socioeconomic status and their impact on long-term health outcomes.

Needs Assessment and Resource Map

The following needs assessment was created from a provided scenario, which is included in the paper, detailing a sexual assault case study. This paper details the social, cultural, and economic context, and it identifies prominent resources available in Athens-Clarke County.

Practiced-Based Papers

Program Plan (work in progress)

The program plan I created addressed the lack of proper prenatal care among women utilizing Medicaid in a northeastern city. I suggested adapting and implementing an existing home-based program that brings services to participants’ homes, provides social support, and connects individuals with available community resources.

White Paper

The following white paper addresses patient engagement and experience, and specifically how it relates to fractured indigent care in Athens-Clarke County. Two suggestions to improve patient engagement and experience are detailed: the adoption of a community care coordination platform and a wide-scale community health fair. The real-world application of a community health fair is detailed, and a comprehensive logic model is included.

Technical Manual

The following technical manual serves as a guide to nutrition for college students. It includes several important aspects of good nutrition for young adults, such as healthy eating on a budget, meal prepping, nutritious eating on a college campus, supplements, and tips and tricks on how to maintain healthy eating habits.

Brief Report

The following brief report displays basic information and statistics about sexually transmitted infections (STIs). It presents prevention strategies, testing recommendations, and treatment options. This report is designed to be accessible to the general public by using plain language and clear formatting.
